Why not get the Seasonic X750? Its like $10 more and would be very well suited for you.
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

Case I can get for 85 plus shipping
Not the best chipset on the MB
a 760 is the exact same price todays technology, E8400 3 year old tech
why a 340 video card on a 80 dollar MB makes no sense, and again mixing old and new technology
your using DDR3 again new mixed with old get a 1156 mb and 760 processor and be in todays tech

My 2 cents

To be fair, the ###HX series Corsair power supplies *ARE* rebranded Seasonics.  I personally have the 650HX and am very happy with it!  But keep in mind that this is not the case of all Corsair Power supplies... for example the CX### series are NOT Seasonics...

Are for the processor, using NewEgg's prices, the 760 is $208, vs. $170 for the E8400.  That's a $38 price difference, or an 18% price difference.  You also have to keep in mind the 1156 motherboards tend to be higher in price than 775 ones.  For a $100 total difference in price, it may be worth the jump to an i5 vs. a C2D.

Out of curiosity TD, in your opinion which is better.. an i3 or a C2D (assuming similar clock speeds)?

Never an i3.  New egg charges to much for some parts.  I pay 170 for the 760 and 85 for the case

Rebranded but still not the Gold series and for the small price change it would be worth it to go for the gold.

Dealer pricing... not consumer pricing.
