Spit Fire, for the most part all I fly is the 51, and I have Spits, La5's, La7's, N1k's, P-38's, P-47's, P-51's, Me109's, FW190's, Typhoons, and Tempests all running away. The poor zekes don't run, but even if they did who would notice?  :D

It doesn't matter what you fly when you run out of options you can run. Usually, the 51 is the one that gets away, and that's why you have singled it out.  ;)

P-51d is best aircraft in the game bar none.

A few absoulutes there need adjustin Fester, 'ol pal.  :)

But; outside a few minor details like a fiberglass tail; a one ping engine, the rather annoying occasional LA7, G10, Tempest or Dora and excluding tactical situations that reguire you actually fight in it to save a wingie, protect a buff or take an objective, I'd be inclined to agree.

Take one out for a tour Spit Fire.

She turns on a dime, does verticals at 150,
and those 50,s, talk about fire power :)

Oh yea, forgot to mention, untouchable in HO's.

I usually find my luck runs out a LOT sooner than that.

But; that's just me.  :)

With the altitude that is most commonly fought at, a LA7 will eat a 51’s lunch any day of the week.  Depending on the pilots of course.  Equal skill, altitude, and E, the LA7’s gonna take it.

If flying around the arena with alt looking for victims to dive in on is flying it 'right' then you're probably correct.  However, most pilots would fall asleep and auger loooong before the 150 kills.

If you fly it into engagements at 10k, it's hardly untouchable.

Thats why any p51 pilot worth anything wont fight an la7 below 5k, cause he will loose. Ditto for a p51 pilot who turns with a spitfire, or a p51 pilot who trys to climb with a 109, blah blah blah blah blah...

as for the zekes not running and who would notice well I have killed more spits in a zero then anything else because they think they can turn with me. Then I hit them with the 2 20mm and the 7.7mm mg and 13mm mg and they go boom or spiral into the ground.
