Nose art
« on: November 10, 2010, 07:46:14 PM »
ok--got the thing sized to 64x64 in a bmp format--now how and where do I set the "color transparency" at.  Talked to a bunch of folks and looked/read all I can find on it in several places--Like photoshopand corel--no idea what it means--but I do know my art looks really bad on the planes. :cry  Any ideas on how to fix it or maybe (HINT HINT) someone to send it to and fix it for me?? Thanks guys--any advice is greatky appreciated!!

Create a custom color using RGB values of 176,176,176.  Should be a shade of gray, anywhere you use this color will be transparent.

Anyone else run into this bump in creating transparent nose art?  Converting files into indexed file, the 176,176,176 gray color gets corrected and is no longer transparent.

I am certain there is a reason for these files to be indexed .bmp format, but can be a pain to get the indexed files to do what you would like for them to do.  Especially, since most of the editing features do not work while in indexed format.

I am currently using Gimp, but have had the same experience with Paintshop Pro and other editors.

I am still having trouble with it--now I can't get it to resize to 64x64 and can't find a way to do the 176 transparency--tried gimp also no luck there either-- :cry--lol and I am running outta hair to pull also :headscratch:

My nose art has that stupid black square around it. Looks like crap. If someone would be interested in designing my squads noseart I would gladly compensate you for your time and effort (within reason).
