Remembrance Day
« on: November 11, 2010, 07:24:21 AM »
"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them".

<<S>> to the fallen Heroes that made the life that we lead possible
many thanks.

Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?
Apparently I'm in the 20th FG 'Loco Busters', or so the legend goes.

To those who have served or are currently serving - Thank You
To the families of the fallen - Know that they are Heroes

By doing what was asked of you - without hesitation or regret, is what allows the rest of us to enjoy the lives we choose to live.  For that, you are all Heroes and will never be forgotten.

Thankyou to all of those that salute us veterans on this day any day that you so choose. I gladly gave 11 years of my life in support of this great nation before I was medically discharged. As one can see in my signature, I served on various commands through the years. I have seen most of this world (Damn near every gallon of it...lol) while serving and prior to that being a Navy Brat as my stepfather served. I enjoyed my time in and was very proud to serve and would do so again if it were possible. I salute those who served and continue to serve to maintain and protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Thankyou for what you have done and are now doing, making many sacrifices that the average person has no clue about. Praises to all (except the Veteran's Administration Health Care system that let many of us slip through the cracks, not giving us the proper medical attention we so rightly deserve). God Bless all of you that are now in harms way here and abroad and I pray for your safe return home to your loved ones and friends.

Halfway down the trail to Hell,
In a shady meadow green
Are the Souls of all dead troopers camped,
Near a good old-time canteen.
And this eternal resting place
Is known as Fiddlers' Green.

Marching past, straight through to Hell
The Infantry are seen.
Accompanied by the Engineers,
Artillery and Marines,
For none but the shades of Cavalrymen
Dismount at Fiddlers' Green.

Though some go curving down the trail
To seek a warmer scene.
No trooper ever gets to Hell
Ere he's emptied his canteen.
And so rides back to drink again
With friends at Fiddlers' Green.

And so when man and horse go down
Beneath a saber keen,
Or in a roaring charge of fierce melee
You stop a bullet clean,
And the hostiles come to get your scalp,
Just empty your canteen,
And put your pistol to your head
And go to Fiddlers' Green.

 :salute Always Ready

Thank you to those who served
