I don't believe this would be used. Where would you get 7 people to gun for you?

Do a quick search on 'deathstar' and you will find numerous discussions to this topic.

You will also find references to the big man saying it ain't gonna happen.

Yes, Machfly.. it would be used.  We had loads of fun in Air Warrior doing that.. and the way that game was, you had to join the bomber before it took off, and, short of disconnecting from the game, you couldn't leave the bomber until the pilot ended the flight.  ( or you might have been able to bail out... was so long ago )

Well, for a while, there, AW bomber pilots couldn't man gunner positions.  You flew and bombed.. that was it.

Our squad also had a few folks that were perfectly content tagging along as gunners and do nothing else.

AW had some targets buried on the enemy home islands ( BIG PAC? ) that were worth some insane number of points. One of our squad's little mini-awards was a 'Million Point Mission'.

You take a deathstar with 8 passengers, make it to one of the rear echelon targets, bomb it, and rtb.  The points were awarded to each person, so if you had 9 folks total, and I think the typical point damage was 112,000  you had 1,000,000+ points just tallied for the squad.

It was a goal to shoot for.. and was a night of good fun for those involved.  Everybody isn't always driven to be the most efficient killing machine possible.

There's a lot to be said for just the company you kept.

And the rum that flowed.. Ahhhh....  Ewwww...   oh yeah.. Ummmm..
