I was looking at buying a supercar.  Then I drove past a chevy dealer and for about 1/10th the cost of purchase and 1/100th the cost of maintenance and insurance I went with this:

I love this car.

Itialian? pshh..

I actually got to drive one of those GTs once.  Granted it was raining at the time and it was just around the parking lot, but I still got behind the wheel!

This was when I worked at a Ford dealer.  Down the street was an auto museum, and they had one of these on consignment.  Somehow they managed to damage the (front) hood latch so we got to fix it.  While it was there we all took turns taking it around the parking lot.  It was cool, but definitely not a car I would want to own (nor have to get in and out of frequently).  I think all of you with back problems can relate.

I didn't get to work on it, but the poor guy who did accidentally dropped a socked down between the (front) storage area and the firewall, and the socket fell down onto the underside panels.  He had to lift the car up and remove the panels to get his socket out.  Since Ford has a big NO-NO policy to using air tools on this car he had to remove what appeared to be about 50-60 bolts, one at a time, by hand to get the panels off to retrieve his one little socket.  All in all he spent about 3-4 hours on the car to do a 20 minute job.  He was furious!

I've seen some interesting things though... Worked on and driven a couple of Delorians (nothing special really)... I got to help build and install a custom exhaust for a Chrysler Dual Ghia that Frank Sinatra used to own.  My dad was a mechanic too and when I was a kid he called my mom up and had her bring us kids up to his work.  He was putting a starter in the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile and thought we'd get a kick out of seeing it (and sitting in it).  We did!  This was when we lived down in Houston.  He also worked on Nolan Ryan's cars (and a bunch of the Astros at the time) and would get us 'sponsor box' tickets to the games quite frequently.

Ford GT's have a serious flaw in the doors, look at the designe and see what would happen if someone parked to close to you :)
as far as the greatest super cars ever,  they were so good that they arnt even allowed to race them anymore, Group B cars ( gretest in the world)
Audi Quatro Sport
Ford RS200
Lancia 037
Lancia Delta S4
Porsche 959

all of these cars could out perform anything else on the road, and also off it

Wouldn't help my friend.  My oldest son has his eye on this one as of right now. He's gonna have to wait a good long while though I hope.

I only get to drive it when I am in Miami, but it is worth the wait.

I really like the look of the Synergy.  Last time I was in Miami I was having a smoke outside a restaurant and I hear a distictive growl coming from a car on the mail road.  It turned into the mall and I got a look at it...a Synergy with some sort of cat-back exhaust on it.  The car pulled up to a T J Max store and an old guy slowly managed to get out of the driver side, got himself to the passenger side and opened the door for, I assume his wife.  They both then slowly hobbled into the store.

It made me smile because at least I know I'm not the oldest guy with an 18 year old's car.  lol  :)

The only issue I have with the Synergy is the lack of vroom vroom.  ;)  I went for the bad boy, 6.2l V8 manual SS.

I think Chevy hit a massive home run with the new Camaros.

Agreed on the homerum. It made Ford wake up too. Getting alot like the late 60s with the competition. Dodge is bringing up the rear.

My Daughter's Synergy has all custom lighting with green halos and afterburners. Exhaust is the axle back Flowmaster American Thunder.

Here is a video shot of the car after the lighting install by AAC......
