MUSTANG DRIVERS This is for you
« on: November 18, 2010, 09:41:17 AM »
I have another life (other than cartoon flying) I know, hard to believe, but I build, fly, and video scale RC aircraft for manufactures around the world. In respect of my most favorite warbird I just finished a scale mustang for video with a bit of a twist. It is the only one flying on a custom 4 blade propeller system and the only Aeroworks P51 Mustang sporting a 4 blade in the world.

Thought it was important enough to post for all of my AH buddies. If you know me you know I love me some Stang. Yes Angry, I am talking to you.

The plane was designed to fly on a DA 50 gas engine but the 50 wouldn't turn the 4 bladed prop. We had to go with a DA 85 to make it work so we didn't have much room inside the cowling. Ya gotta love the sound though.

This kit covered is only 1800 including retracts. I was building a Byron Mustang when it came out last December. I got the uncovered version for 1500. They have sold over 400 so far. I am very happy with the construction. This thing is built like a tank and I have built hundreds of RC models.

Years ago I flew with the Cloud Dancers sponsored by Byron Originals. Now I fly for RC Aerodyne and Hitec. More helicopters than fixed wing.

Just a little input for "Pony" drivers.I bought Microsofts flight simulatorX,and if you want a challenge, fly the A2A soft wares version of the "Pony".You have to manually push-pull,maintain trim etc,and the flight model has been given the o.k. by real Mustang pilots!Their newest addition is the P-47 Razorback, and I managed to fly from Pocatello Regional Airport to Jackson Hole Airport with full ralism settings! The takeoff and landing weren't pretty but I got it done!
