I've heard it completely fried A $60,000 plasma screen TV.

You're not very bright if you actually believe that, there is no way a Kinect can fry a TV.

Kinect is really nothing more than a gimmick on a console but on the PC and Mac the Kinect really has incredible potential.  Already some have started to do amazing things with the Kinect and a computer.

What could be done with this as is done in some respect with the Wii would be a boxing game but one that models foot work as well.

Hell of a good work out playing a video game.

Speak of this some more oh toothless wonder! I am interested in what you speak of....possibility for free track or anything that doesn't require IR strobes on your head for looking around in game are very intriguing to me.

No, not like free track at all though I'm sure hack drivers can be created that would allow the Kinect to do that.  The videos I've seen of the two people that had hacked the Kinect and one hooked it up to a PC and the other to a Mac.  This allowed them to manipulate the interface like Tom Cruise did in Minority Report.  So far, the drivers for the hack are limited in functionality as they were created more as a proof of concept sort of thing instead of a functional hack driver for the Kinect on a computer.  Give it a few more months and you'll see some incredible stuff with a hacked Kinect on a PC.

most households in japan dont have 8ft of space to properly utilize it ;)

However, HT could probably benefit from supporting a kinect-on-pc type of control set.

stand in front of pc. spread arms to each side.. synchronized up/down movement of arms= bank ... bend forward or back = stick up/down ... move hips sideways = rudder ....

shake head to fire machine guns, do the humping motions to fire cannons.

aaah yes... it would be grand. All those wurgermonkeys, n1kdweebs and chogboys will be out of a spine in a week.  :devil
