Thanks for the replies.I think the B-29 will get people that mainly fly fighters to give it a whirl, but then it will settle down, and it will be flown by the buff pilot group.I 'm sure it will be flown a lot more than any other buff.My take on the perk thing,is it shouldn't be very many perks because it's a bomber.I don't fly perk planes,as I'm too poor of a pilot to accumulate many points.I didn't mean to start a argument over the perk thing,as I was just curious.Fair skies and  good hunting to all :salute

I must be doing something wrong, I only have 3000 perks.  :(

Granted this is all speculation but I'm going to guess that the B29 will be anywhere from 90-110 perks per plane. That makes it 300ish for a formation which, IMO, would make it pretty fair in the MA.

I would have a hard time believing it would be perked very high..

I would even go as far to say a bit less than the AR234 ( 78/per I believe )

The argument being that even though it may outrun most, if not all, non perked prop planes, the 262s and 163s will feed on them like, in words spoken by MGD ( <S>), a hobo on a ham sandwich.

I'm not convinced the 29 is going to be the uber of all bombers.  I really think it has some vulnerabilities that will become painfully apparent once the MA hordes are released on it.

Personally, I plan on spending a lot of time in TA152s when the 29s come out.  A few shots in one of those massive wings ( even I should be able to hit something that big! ) and they should fall.

When, of course, I'm not driving one myself..  :t

I wanted to fly a Mossie 16 sortie, no drones.  I didn't have a single bomber perk.  I flew one Ki-67 sortie in which I dropped three 250kg bombs on three different town centers and downed a single Ta152.  I did not manage to land any of my bombers.

That earned me about 35 perk points.

The single Mossie 16 sortie where I dropped a 'cookie' on a town center and mostly missed with my two 500lb bombs on another town and did land earned me about 8 more perk points.

Bomber points are not hard to earn.

I was wondering if we are going to get the early B29 gun package of twin guns or the later quad version?

Gah, you beat me to it Karnak!  :D

Yeah, like he said, flying one sortie in a Ki67 will get you plenty perks.  I did the same thing when I wanted to fly the new mossie when I came back.  :aok

The other night I flew a B25C in "fighter mode" and I landed 4 kills in 2 sorties. Those 4 kills netted me 45 bomber perks for about 20 minutes of flying.

If you need buff perks all you need to do is just fly a few missions in the Ki-67 (or the Boston 3/B25 if you're feeling gutsy) and you can earn them pretty quick. The Ki67 is the best though because it climbs fast, fly's fast, and has a decent armament even if it goes up like a Zippo. Just use the 8x100kg bombs on towns and you can rake the points in over time.
