« on: November 21, 2010, 10:07:12 PM »
what if in the cloud editor there was a way to make a rain cloud, so it would rain every. < min time ____ max time ____ > it would be cool to see rain. I heard this would be hard to add to game. ill wait till its not to hard, if not forever I'm in no hurry.
Planes I'm good in the Bf-109 G14, the B-25C, and the B-17G not many but its nice for me to know :P

It's addable, however it shouldn't be. Rain stopped most air operations during WWII.

There were exceptions (the Cactus Air Force launched air strikes on Japanese shipping during a rainstorm) but generally once the storm clouds closed in, planes were grounded.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

How cool would it be if storm cells randomly popped up and moved across the map.  Fighters and bombers would have to divert around large cells to avoid the unfavorable flying conditions within them.  Sometimes you'll face a light drizzle, other times you're presented with hail and strong winds, almost impossible to fly in.

However, once you get your head out of the clouds (pun intended), the scale of this in implementation, frame rates, and effects on game play make this idea not much more than a dream.

I want weather so badly...

I think it would add variation that this game so desperately needs.  Wind I'm not so worried about, although it would make things like CV take-offs and CV control more interesting.  It would be too cool!!! :x

I thought the fog was the coolest thing when I flew through it to attack a port the other day, made seeing cons difficult and was REALLY fun!
I'm Sector95 in-game! :-D
