While I agree that Chili sucks, you can't believe that Favre had nothing to do with the firing.
He missed training camp and played like crap when he decided to show. THEN he started bad-mouthing the coach at press conferences. It was a volatile situation that was doomed to melt-down.
The Vikings are a team in total disarray and will suck for a long time to come.

GO BEARS!
You show me where Favre was bad mouthing the coach at press conferences. I've seen every one this year and I havent seen it yet. The only badmouthing I've seen or read about Favre saying about Childress was though hearsay.
As has been with most of the so called "Drama" surrounding Favre over the last few years. 90% has been created, yes created by the media itself
Yes Favre hasnt played well. That is an absolutely fair assessment But iit hasnt been entirely his fault either.
About half his picks this year were due to receivers being out of position, tipped passes. And as was the case against the bears the receivers falling down.
Good example there with the Bears game. Not one of the 3 picks the Bears got were Favres fault. Twice the receivers fell down, and 1 was off a tipped ball because of a damn good play by a Bears lineman.
Childress would make a good front office candidate. Personally if I were Wilf. I'd have bumped him upstairs instead of out of the door. As much as he absolutely sucks as an offensive coach. He does know how to assemble talent
Big part of Childress's problems and part of the rift between he and Favre stems form the fact that he's a micromanager and refused to listen to player input.
Its the one thing Moss said when he badmouthed Childress that I beleive is 100% true.
As I've said many times here on the boards. There is a reason why he wasnt allowed to call plays in Philly. Now here is a guy thats going ot try and Tell a QB like Favre how to run an offense that Fave has been playing in longer then Childress has been coaching it?. Thats like Bob Ross telling Rembrandt how to paint. No wonder there was a rift..
Yes the Vikings are a team in disarray. Again a TEAM in disarray. That falls on the coach.
Its the Coaches job to motivate and to lead. To settle the team down or to build them up.
I dont buy into this nonsense that "they are all professionals, they dont need a coach to motivate them"
Thats crap. If that were true. The military would never need officers or noncoms
Childress is a poor leader. Always has been.
The only mistake Wilf made was in not firing him sooner
