A Call to Arms - Camel drivers sign up here
« on: November 23, 2010, 05:23:14 AM »
WW1 arena this coming Saturday 27 Nov at 2130hrs US EST, a small group of Camel drivers have agreed to meet and sweep the dreaded Fokker from the sky. However there may be two of 'em so any additional help would be appreciated. Probably a good idea to specify a country, so we'll make it Knights and up from A3, maybe any Fokker jockeys who master their fear can up Bish from A2  :D

There will be a temporary relaxation of the 'Gentlemen's Code' during the sweep. The mission objective is to crush the pesky Dr1 with sheer weight of numbers. Losses are expected to be high. Nevertheless we will win through in the end, as this will be a classic WW1 style battle of attrition.

Hope to see you there. Good luck  :salute

I don't think that Camel Drivers is an appropriate title.  I think they are properly referred to as "Arab Americans".   Please, let's not let these boards go to shameful names.    :D

I'm still learning to fly the camel.
I bust off those wings now and then, but not as often as I used to.
I'll be there.

....so there'll be THREE Fokkers?....  :O

Should be fun BGB, hope your rebuild goes well  :salute  Just a word of warning - there will be ad hoc jeering, taunting and some generally disparaging remarks prior to and during the battle. Guidelines for those unfamiliar with such behaviour are included below. Remember these are guidelines only, innovative and/or imaginative variations on the theme are encouraged. Please confine your insults to the characteristics of the opposing aircraft, the ability of the pilot/s, and the tactics employed. Stay focussed, gentlemen.

Camel Jockey's Guide to Casting Aspersions on Dr1 Drivers:

The purpose of taunting an opponent is to enrage him, impairing his ability to think clearly. Dr1 drivers become angry when you point out that their aircraft is a 'toy aeroplane', a 'noob ride' etc. Also they are never in complete control of the Dr1 and suffer from deep seated self confidence issues as a result. A taunt along the lines of 'you suck' will always find it's mark.... I usually abbreviate this to <S>  As for tactics, Dr1 drivers prefer to attack with an altitude advantage, and this provides you with two options: if they are higher simply call them 'alt monkeys', and if you are higher keep your thoughts to yourself, manage your E carefully and gun them down like sick rabbits.
