New computer what can I expect?
« on: November 24, 2010, 02:46:32 PM »
Well my old computer bit the dust, so I ordered a new one from Cyberpower PC (sorry TD, I checked out your site but I could build a faster one for less on theirs!)

 Intel i7-950 CPU
 6 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM
ATI Radeon 6870 1 Gig Video Card

You think I outta be able to crank up the graphics pretty good and still keep 60 fps?  I've never really had AH run great AND look great.. always wanted to be able to.

Absolutely.  If you can't, send it back, cuz something's VERY wrong with it.

I built myself one comparable to yours, AH can't even touch it. Max FPS no matter what the situation in the game on the highest possible settings (antialiasing, detail, textures, etc.) , smooth as silk.

No problem.  I only use the best parts since my name is on the line.  If you went part number to part number, they are well over what I charge, I know because I visit the sites myself to see whats out there.  They also state "Corsair or major brand" for instance on their memory, there are a lot of flavors of memory out there starting at a base price and go up for the same memory, reason is the better and faster memory cost more.  If you read their specs and lookup the review's, some of the parts they use do not get the best scores.  Investigate the ASETEC 510 C, lots of problems with that and the one fan is usually not enough. Plus my customer service is second to none as those who have invested in a system from me can attest to.

I am sure you will be happy with the system you configured.  It should run the game pretty much maxed.
