Buttons dead with Cyborg 3D USB
« on: February 01, 2001, 01:38:00 PM »
Hi there. I'm using Cyborg 3D USB under w2k
+ CHPro Pedal USB. But the buttons of the stick wouldn't function.

In the joystick mapping setion in AH, whatever the button I press get no responce
on assginment screen (POV works however).

I read someone said about SGE but is it really about that? I also read this USB issue
may be AH specific(with W2K), and actually I have no problem with CFS2.

Dx version is 8, by the way.

Any suggestions appriciated (back to w98..?)
problem

My stick is a X36, but under Win2k lots of buttons don't work in AH either (only 11 out of 26 work). Yet Win2k sees them and they work.

With the latest version of DirectX (8.0) and SGE (2.3), I think Saitek sticks can function in Win2k, but cannot be programmed with SGE.

I think it may well be an AH-specific problem.

I suppose so too. And for CFS2 I don't need
SGE tho. And that's why I thought I could
do something without SGE. Anyway, except
buttons, everything works fine.

Hi Haj,
I have just been through exactly the same symptoms you describe.

I have just finished building my new PC (Woohoo)

I exported my profiles off my old PC. Installed SGE on the new system. Imported my profile setup started AH up and guess what the Axis, Throttle & POV worked great but the buttons? forget it  . The Autoconfigure had AH as the default profile but nothing. 24 hours later I decided to RTFM (No more hair to pull out).

The solution (Well mine anyway).
If you have connected the joystick before loading SGE (Even for a second) it will be detected by windows and the SGE will not work.

There is a program called "nukeusb" as part of SGE. Remove the Joystick from the port and run nukusb. (Select the cyborg at the prompt). This will remove all traces of your cyborg from the reqistery.

Then reconnect the cyborg and re callibrate.

Worked for me
