they joined the weakest of the big-six its no surprise to me, not really stupid if they can make it in one of the big-six conference. this gets them a automatic bid with the BCS. no more having to be a atlarge bid,  but compared to SEC or BIG-10 even the BIG-12 the Big East isn't all that good, TCU was 98th in SOS their road to being undefeated was alot easier. i see there SOS going up a little more in the Big East. They need to show me against real competition they are good. beating nobodies and claiming your good doesn't do it for me.

As much as I root for my frogs I can hope that will happen but 35 years of being a fan and most of them were subpar I can only wait and see.. and keep my fingers crossed.

(Please note that I am a rabid Mi State fan. Now stop laughing)

In all fairness to my colleagues from around the country, yes the SEC is a darn tough conference. And no, I'm not thrilled with the BCS rules. And yes, I was originally a bit peeved at MSU not getting a BCS bowl because of the rule, but really - if anyone would have said to me at the start of the season MSU would finish 11-1 I would have asked precisely what they were smoking.

Other than the national championship, bowl games are just a giant party and a way to throw money around. And that's ok until we have a national playoff system - which we won't. Just as long as we recognize they're a giant party and don't get caught up in SEC/ACC/B10/B12/WAC etc relative toughness assessment because it's all hogwash at the bowl level, it's all good.

To answer the original question: Oregon and Auburn

You see what happens to teams when they move into a halfway decent conference though.

Just a few short years ago three teams from Conference USA moved into the Big Least....Louisville, Cincinnati and USF all left C-USA to make a break for the "big time conference" with major bowl tie ins. Well lets see...Louisville has either imploded or not lived up to expectations by the media darling pundits, Cincinnati had their run because they got lucky and USF made the Top 25 rankings a couple of times and now they are back in the same level they were in while in C-USA. At least in C-USA two of those three schools had a shot at winning a conference championship each year and those were Louisville and Cincy. USF got lucky because no teams they played took them serious and they had just enough decent athletes to make a game out of it.

if auburn loses the SEC championship game i still think the 1 lose auburn should go cause i think they are still better then any 1 lose PAC 10 or big 10 team out there. and TCU may get its chance to put up or shut.
