Name a plane that had one fuel tank.... A single tank.  Just saying, I can't think of a plane that only had one tank. If it had two, then I ought to be able to select one or the other.
In the F4U series. the 1A had 3 tanks, the 1C,1D, and 4 all had 1 main tank to use... also like others have said if you dont take 100% you wont always use all the tanks.

this is the point where you decide if you want to do a bunch of research to find out, or just trust that HTC have done theirs :)

hehe

in my experience the more you dig, the more you realise that HTC have done their research and made good decisions about the modelling of whatever it is. there are a few exceptions but they are just that.

The Bf109s also have a single tank. Get a hole and you're done for. The P-47s have 1 main and 1 very small aux... Most times that aux is gone and you are essentially flying on 1 tank. Similar situation.

163 also has just 1 tank.

I'm sure there are a few more but can't think of them right now.

 Krusty,

The 163 used two chemicals as fuel and they had to be stored sepperately.

So saying it had 1 tank is false.

still. you can consider it one due to the fact that losing one or the other = losing all your fuel and/or explosion due to imbalance of mixture?

Explosion.
Or did anyone ever had fuel leak in a 163? Not me for sure... ;)

The 163 had a total of 7 fuel tanks. Three for T-Stoff and four for C-Stoff.
