How Many Players in the Pa/Nj/Ny Region
« on: December 07, 2010, 10:14:10 AM »
Hi all

I have been talking to quite a few players that play within a 2 hr window some even closer to where I live (Quakertown,PA). I had the pleasure of meeting Lawndart from Pigs on the Wing Squad last night and we got to talking about an east coast or Tri state meeting of Local players. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in trying to set up a Meet n Greet and who knows if we could get away with hosting a Min-Con here. Lawndart said he is able to hook up a lan connection if we want to try and go that route. In the Spring Early Summer there is a WW2 Weekend out in Reading Pa that I am looking up and I know it has been posted before.

Guess I am just trying to get a Head count of who may be interested in doing something like this since I know alot of us are unable to make the journey to Texas when the main con is. Even if we just meet for a few Beers or something and just have a meet n greet.

I have done this in the past back in Air Warrior and met alot of Excellent players from the game and some are still playing this day.

I love reading air shows. Can you tell me where you found better ones? Unless you mean that reading did not have jets.

Been to the Reading airshow many times although I missed it last year. Always a good time and always manage to meet some fellow AH pilots. A few years back there was a bunch of us got together. Somebody posted a pic of us next to a Jug. I'm in for the Reading show unless work or some other RL thingy pops up.

I'm in Throop, PA (very close to Scranton) and live right across from the Penn State Campus up here. I always wanted to go to the Reading Air Show, just never could make it in the past  :(

That was literally the only reason why I went there last year.

Not Upper Perk or Perk Valley?

You must have been waaay up the edge of Green Lane, then, almost into Boyertown.

Airflyer lives up that way (Donaldson, PA) and we've gone to the Reading airshow the past 2 years, and schedule permitting again this coming year.  We tried to find some of the AHers last year but we mostly forgot, although I do think we passed by one (Saw a Scouts Troop and Leader at the gate and someone mentioned being the Leader on here).
We're normally there Saturday for ~3 hours, always interesting to meet AHers so we can move it around best as possible to stop and meet and whatnot. He's got a bit of a tight schedule but I'm free most anytime. :)
