  I finally found something I enjoy making. :)
This was my first one made specifically for Thndregg. :P  The base is a bit rough but I was working with what I had laying around the shop.

I then went on to fancier things and produced this stately looking Smirnoff Vodka lamp. :)  The base is some finish grade pine ply that I thought looked nice cut at angles.

Then Thndr gave me one of his nice MacNAUGHTON's bottles to try and I went all out on it. Nice, walnut stained, solid oak base. :)


 I think a JD bottle with a rectangular base might look good but I can't stand the stuff lol.  Anyone have any empties?
 I've had thought of trying to sell these. Looked around on the net a bit and haven't found any that I think look as nice so maybe I have a shot. lol

If you are drilling the holes in the glass for the wiring, you also have a future in bong making  :)

Man those look really nice!  Excellent work for sure.  Just out  of curiosity, what is that stuff you're filling the bottles up with?

We made bottle lamps in Junior High back in the 70's.  And yes, we drilled holes in the bottom for the wiring.   :D

You bring back memories...some good, some bad.   :neener:

 That is actually really coarse salt.  It took a while to find something that   A. looked good    B. didn't cost a fortune and   C. could be colored to go with the bottle or shade.   Have to thank my sister for that thought. :)      Most craft type material that I found would have been way to spendy to get in any great quantity. 

 The dark whisky bottle I left empty because I didn't really feel it needed anything other than it's own good looks. :) Not to mention it's dark enough that filler really wouldn't have mattered much unless I wanted to just add some weight.

I've been hanging on to an empty bottle of 15 year old Glanmorangie with a gold leaf label without a clue what I was going to do with it. Now I know.

Nice. I bet you could make some bucks making them. Also, I bet sand sculptures in the bottle would sell.
