Benchmarks help
« on: November 12, 2001, 10:31:00 AM »
Tried to run 3DMarks2001.

I download it. Start it and it displays a control panel so you can make your selections.

I select to perform the benchmark and it comes up with a low intensity test on the driving game.

Now here is the problem.  The screen gets very dim and I can barely see it.  It reads that it is Initializing the game, but nothing.  I wait forever but nothing happens.  always reads

TIME REMAINING: 6 Minutes

So what am I doing wrong.

Here is something else.  I upped my refresh rate to 75, it was at 60.  I put a ME109F4 sitting on the runway and it sat at 75 FPS for a little while but then went down to it's normal 55 FPS, just by sitting there.  The only time I see 75 is if look straight up.  Seems the best refresh rate is 70.  This is where I'll see 62-65 when flying in clear skies.

Guess I'll just keep it at 70.

I tried VSYNC off but AH would not get [ast the black and gray HTC screen.  So turned it back on and left it there.

Flying thru smoke about 17FPS.
Rock:  Ya see that Ensign, lighting the cigarette?
Powell: Yes Rock.
Rock: Well that's where I got it, he's my son.
Powell: Really Rock, well I'd like to meet him.
Rock:  No ya wouldn't.
