O2 tanks?

I think that if your flying at 25k with a b17 and you dont black out from lack of oxygen then your a god. if not your the normal person who's being deprived of oxygen. Maybe we should put oxygen tanks in all the bombers that required it in WW2. also lets make them so that if they get hit you run out of oxygen and start blacking out until you reach an altitude that you can  "breathe" in. It would make the game a little more life-like

I think there are certain elements of realism that HTC has omited for playability, like mixture controls, for example.

Hehe sounds cool and a little funny, it would make the epic mission more interesting wouldn't it.

How do you think you got to 25k in the first place?  The use of oxygen is implied by the game letting you go that high.

may I point out to you that in aces high 2, there's no oxygen whatsoever at any altitude? so in essence we are all dmgod.

i never said you had to push a button, just that it goes on automatically so you dont have to do that very thing

Ever heard of O₂ tanks getting damaged?  Oxygen masks freezing, yes.  Tanks getting hit?  I'm surprised I've never seen reference to it.

Of course, IRL you'd probably know and fly below 10k.

I don't believe it was a huge issue, particularly to bomber crews, as they had supplementary personal O2 tanks, should the main system fail/get damaged.

Allied pilots in the PTO were advised to aim for the cockpit area on Zekes because the oxygen tank was located behind the cockpit.  A hit in that area would cause the oxygen tank to explode, either killing the pilot outright or wounding him.

well there ARE oxygen tanks in a b17(there the yellow cylinders i think) but there just there for authentication.

is this modeled in AH? because sometimes it seems that shots that kill me instantly are shots to areas where O2 tanks are located on craft...
