THRUSTMASTER T.Flight Hotas X ?

Decent reviews but they might be a bunch of PS3 dweebs for all I know.

Does anyone know how this stick fares in AH?

I recently switched over to one of these from a Saitek ST290.

It's very difficult for me to get used to the HOTAS configuration.

Some of the buttons make a loud clicking noise when pressed and the whole thing feels a bit plasticy. Although it is definately more robust than the Saitek model I had.

I've also noticed quite a bit of what I refer to as "nose bounce" at lower speeds. When turning in a fight I can't hit a thing and it is very pronounced on final approach for landing. Perhaps I need to either get used to the stick or mess with the scaling.

The cord that connects the throttle and stick doesn't offer enough length to place my keyboard in between the two. It is currently at a bit of an angle. (That's my biggest gripe about the whole thing!)

Plenty of programmable buttons and offers two ways to use rudder. (Twisty and a paddle on the throttle.)

I can't attest to the longevity of the product as I've only been using it for a couple weeks.

Overall, I'm glad to have it and would rate it 7.87 out of 10.

Alright, cheers.

What you should do is, go into the stick scale config thing.. Look at the direct input of the stick.

When you move it, is the input smooth on the Y axis in particular?
Also you can see exactly how much it's bouncing etc.

Thanks for the tip, I went and checked it and everything appears to be steady. (The "raw" slider leads the "scaled" slider in both directions, but with no noticeable "bounce".) This leads me to believe that I just need to get used to the stick.

With that confirmation, I'd boost my rating to an 8.23. However, given the price point of $30 it just might be a 10. (Given that it holds up for a bit.)

I don't think it's on the level of a CH product or even a more top of the line TM product though.

Well, been running this thing for about 2 months and the secondary weapon button (bomb release) that I have mapped to button number 2 is starting to act up.

The second most important button on the stick and it's failing after 2 months.

I renounce any and all positive remarks that I had about this p.o.s. Cheap plastic garbage.

Wish I didn't give my ST-290 away.  :bhead
