Robert Plant often forgot lyrics live.  Because of that fact, he loses major points.  He doesn't possess much of a vocal range either.

Towards the end of Zep's run he also couldn't reliably hit the high notes live and they would play them in a lower key. If you watch/listen to The Song Remains the Same I think you can hear it.
