GV Trooper Assistance
« on: December 14, 2010, 02:35:45 AM »
It would be nice if when a GV is stopped a person coulod have a troop be able to walk from the vehicle.

Tether its distance to say 10 -20' Max.
This would really help in towns by allowing a Tanker to be able to scope out around the corner of the buildings
for nmy GV's.
Susceptable to all types of small arms fire and explosives, he gets killed and you lose him for that run.

What does everyone else think?

Not a bad idea as that type of thing did happen a lot in the real deal.  What happens if the enemy sees you and lobs an HE shell or a sting of MG rounds your way and catches your man looking through binoculars?  The big thing is "coading".  There are a million things probably deemed more important to HTC and the players to get into the game first.  :) (like the He111)

The trooper gets hit, He's DaiD.  You dont have him again till you re-up.

And you also cant drive off till you put him back in GV if he's alive.

It would also put 1st person shooter aspect into the game is what I am thinking.

HAH what happens when you looking around you see a tank and then you go back to your tank, but its not there haha. Or better yet someone steals your tank lol....NO! sry doesnt seem important and not worthy for GVing.

I think it's a great idea.

Just last night I was wishing that I could hop outta my tank, run a few paces, and see what was going on around the other side of some trees. (Without firing up my engine.)

Make it the tank commander. He gets killed, you go to tower.

I actually like this idea and it has merit in history. I remember reading about Michael Wittman and his rampage in Villers-Bocage. IIRC he pulled his Tiger into the outskirts of town and then proceeded to scout out the area on foot before advancing in.

Is this a Flight Sim or a FPS? IMO any aspect of an FPS would take away from the whole gameplay experience. All I forsee with this is an extortion to prevent town captures.

This is a combat sim. The ability to scout a location and/or heighten one's SA while operating a GV certainly has merit in my opinion.

An "extortion" to prevent town captures? You can't be serious?

Hitech has discussed wanting something like a first person shooter to be integrated into town captures.

ive actually heard of people who bail outta planes over a GV battle and walk up to an enemy tank and somehow(i say glitch) through the tank, shot and kill the tank driver with their pistol. Kinda wierd i know it

Add it in as another gun position, If the Veh is moving it wont allow you to go to that position.
Then if your trooper gets killed it just disables that position and puts you back into the
Drivers seat.
Unless whatever killed him also got the Veh then its to the tower.
