Korean Arena
« on: December 14, 2010, 12:18:31 PM »
Map is already here, jet community is well established. Only thing we need is just two planes: MiG-15 plus F-86E. If I recall correct, from some oldtimers Air Warrior used to have a Korea Arena. Thus the plane software FM should be somewhere in HTC archives. If this is true, and can be retrieved, why not make a new arena with only these two planes plus any GV you may want. Maybe it is not so simple, as I describe it, but at least it is feasible. Isn’t it?

The Korean Arena in Air Warrior was Relaxed Realism.

I'd be all for it though.+1

Pretty sure FR had one, too.  It was difficult not to black out all the time in the jets.

I like the idea for a Korean War arena better than a WW1 arena because you'd still have the option to fly many WW2 airplanes, and even get some of the later variants that didn't see action in WW2.

I think the problem with the AW KW arena was that jets were always enabled.  I'd prefer to see them perked, and have the base of the arena remain prop planes.  I'm probably in the minority.

I due not think we should seprigate arenas based on nationality.  That’s just my opinion though.  If HTC wants to set a president like that who am I too say know?  Its they’re can of werms to opin.  Not mines.  Sew bee it.

I do not remember it, in AW3 in particular.

P51s were the most widely used plane in Korea iirc... but iirc also that the North Koreans didnt use any prop planes but just the Russian Migs... And from battling in 262s i know for a fact that the Mig15 and the F86 wont be blackouts all the time. (no, i havent just fought high Gs in 262s just in jet week...)

I would love to see a Korean War arena.  Having said that: I feel the WW1 arena wasn't started off on the best footing (the DR1 Anti Gravitational generator "aka Tie Fighter" comes to mind).

I am not at all sure that HTC is going to do any more there to try and make the WW1 arena a better more interesting experience.  Korea arena unfortunately is not something I see happening anytime soon, if at all in AH.

-1 I'd rather they spend the time improving the WW2 game.  If they want to add more jets, the He-162, Meteor, and P-80a are always available.

Heh,

La-7, Yak-3 or Il-2 didnt fight in the Korean war...and there's no such thing as La-10.

+1 to that statement.

Still think it would end up as empty as the WWI arena after the "new shine" wore off.

La-9, La-11, and Il-10 off the top of my head. Didnt some more versions of the Yak see combat?

If it was a strictly "Korean War" arena, then you'd probably be right.

If it was a "1946+" arena, I think it'd stand a good chance.
