Cockpit color FJ-1 Fury?

I'm a thoroughly amateur model builder, just for the love of doing it. I'm about to start on a 1/72 FJ-1 Fury (first delivered 1947), and the instructions tell me to paint the cockpit and interior black - but that just doesn't sound right. I know that up to the end of WW2 interiors were zinc chromate, and I know that the light gull gray color was implemented around 1957. But my net researches haven't come up with anything definitive...and I wondered if somebody around here might know the answer.

I do want to get things right in general, but I'm not OCD about this stuff. Barring definite information I'm inclined to go with the zinc chromate, which incidentally will make things more visible. But I'd appreciate input if anyone knows the answer!

No, thanks for finding that. At least whoever restored that bird found resources saying the cockpit was black.

I probably saw the same posts about ZC as you, but I hesitate to take "every body says" without finding something objective. Thanks again!
