How about this Air Warrior memory?!

With a little manipulation you could fly Air Warrior with only a gun sight.Talk about making some shots.It makes the F3 crap look legal!!Alas they finally caught up with the "Crystal Cockpit",but I liked Air Warriors blind shots better than AH.It just doesn't work as well in AH.I had to resort to spin fighting,when they stopped the "Wonder Woman plane."LOL!
Ah the memories,may EA stick it up their kilts!It was a grand old game,and the friends and memories still linger. to all you old AW'ers still populating the skies!

P.S.Nearly everyone was in on the "Crystal Cockpit",so it wasn't much of a crutch!Zazen was so good,and respected.He sent my squadron a "eyes only" email on how to fly an A8 to the max!The "Mares" and JG 27 flew together many a night!

You could also sellect a default cockpit for any plane as well I believe.   I always liked the f4u the most

Yeah but given the tiny little screens then you almost needed that stuff.  I came on when AW first went to AOL, so I don't know if that was still available at the time or not.  I never knew about it at any rate.  I do remember how very glad I was when it went full screen though.  That little periscope was a challenge.

My favorite air warrior memories are the sound of the dial up connecting to AOL.  Then the moment of truth as to whether you had or did not have a connection (that small window of silence).  Then the moment of fury when you received a phone call that booted you because you were to cheap to pay for the widget that ignored incoming calls whil online.   

I do miss the A26 though, that was one fun ride.

Rendering your plane invisible to yourself?.......pfffffffft...........f or quite awhile I would get this little screen freeze in AW and suddenly my plane would go invisible to everyone but me.  My wingy thought I discoed while we were flying along the first time it happened and I told him no I was right here still.  He couldnt see anything.  My apologizes to anyone I tortured with this. Especially after I would get the message "IWASLOOKINGEVERYWHEREANDICOUL DNTSEEYOU!!!!!", and I would answer back with, "Dude you gott check your 6 more often"    



I feel just horrible about that now

I never knew there were so many cheaters in AW. Our squad the Marine Air Wing had well over 100 members...none of them ever mentioned ways to cheat on channel or in our emails. We did a lot of complaining though. Stick stirrers who could spin on a dime and warp on command users like the 555 guys were two of the big ones.

I never thought it was cheating.Gaming the game ,perhaps,but like  I say many used the tactic.Using a winter mod for the terrain was sweet.You could  pick up the enemy easy against a white back ground.The seas were even frozen and white.I recall all the bugs,and it was hilarious to me when the Bz where down to one field for 3-4 days because of bug.I miss the kill macros.One of my favorites was "WHO"S NEXT"
