LAG
« on: December 23, 2010, 07:29:30 PM »
Not really sure what could be done about it but thers a few players out there tha have such bad lag out there its not even funny.but why should the rest of us have to deal with what is a unfair advantage on there part. for example . had a nice little gv camp on.(yes i ws camping) had 25 kills. not having any problem on or two shot killing guys. till this one player showed. fist shot nice big splat. next three go through is tank. all the time this guy is firing back then after 6 to 8 secounds poof he would be gone. no explosion. no turret flying off just gone.well finally i got popped and was the end of the storie. so is this guy using it to his advantage? kind of funny that all the ealry kills were from is sqd. and then he shows up. just saying.. but that is the end of my wne.need to cut some cheese.

Prepare yourself for ppl bleeding their heart in favor of the warpers. I think the warpers are rude and disrespectful of others and should just not play out of common courtesy.

I've like literally have seen maybe 5-10 warps in 2 + years of playing and only one time did it affect me adversely.

I sorta have this problem, but it only happens for about 10 minutes i log in. Then im back to normal. NORMALLY, i fly bombers my first mission, let my disco get outta they way, log in, lag a little bit longer, then im back to normal. So it all happens within 10 minutes.

Then u have not had the pleasure of running into JoeBlack, boyngton, 7up to name a few. One of my all time favorite experiences was with Joe Black in an FSO. After flying for 45 mins in a 190 I engage a pony and the warping starts. I had no idea where he was but he shot my bellybutton down with no problems. The film was hilarious.

Even if he was joking,  I still do totally agree with SunBat.
A occasional hiccup can happen. Warps every once in the while are no big deal.

But there are some guys out there who will constantly zigzag all over the sky, because their connection is massively messed up all the time. I faced one of them in the EW when I was still playing there regularly. At best, he was the totally unstoppable base porker or town killer, at worst he was the warping phantom that shot you out of the sky. You couldn't avoid him, because there wa sonly this one battle when he and his squaddies tried to capture base after base.

I do think "playing" like that is disrespectful to everybody else.

this is how i feel, which is why I don't play from where I am based in Pakistan right now -

I can play, but I know I warp badly, and that I feel ruins the whole expereince for others.

In a normal MMO I would hae a much moe STFU attitude to this, but with a community the size of AH2 and the kind of game it is (where skill does matter to a large degree) I feel its only a sign of respect to abstain.  I fl others should do the same.

I can understand folks who play despite a solid history of lag, it's an addictive game after all.

Netstats should not be hidden away like it is in game. it should be more prominent within the UI, I would even go so far as asking a simple "Packets Sent: xx Received: xx" added to the Ctrl+I information so that each player is more aware of their connectivity status.

Nobody can have a perfect connection and nobody can really be blamed for the connection they have. Temporary connection issues happen to us all and we need to accept this and when someone takes a minute out of their game time to send you a message about your connection, instead of the 20 minute diatribe take 2 to thank the person for the information and check your netstats. If you're peaky, relog.
