Questions on Scoring

Yeah about the ditch.... as far as scoring goes, it does not count as a death, but you don't get as many points for the sortie, however your K/D and K/S are not affected by it.  If you are in a perk ride and you ditch, you lose half of the perks.

I was just reviewing some scoring on the HTC website... and looking at my kills, it says 8 of my 'kills' did not count towards rank.

Total Kills    342
Total Kills towards Rank    334
Total Kills not counted towards Rank    8

What are the possible situations where kills do not count towards rank? (Would like to avoid guesses and jokes please)

Are you mixing up statistics and score? The big difference is stats are loged at event time, scores are entered end of sortie time. As example if you are in flight durring the eject of arena swaps, or a system dump the kill would have been logged in stats, but not in scoring.

No where do I see the text "Total Kills towards Rank " in the scoring system unless I am just over looking it.

You can find this text on the web score page by clicking on the "kills" which then opens a "kill stats" page. This is what makes the discussion a bit confusing at times, as you access this particular subpage via the "Pilot Score" page, not the (entirely different) "player statistics" page.
