Questions on Scoring

I was just reviewing some scoring on the HTC website... and looking at my kills, it says 8 of my 'kills' did not count towards rank.

Total Kills    342
Total Kills towards Rank    334
Total Kills not counted towards Rank    8

What are the possible situations where kills do not count towards rank? (Would like to avoid guesses and jokes please)

I'm not 100% but i think those are from killing a M3 or other GV's in fighter mode. Ive also heard that proxies don't count, but again I could be wrong.

2nd question... which of the following count as a "DEATH" against your Kill/Death Ratio and do the ones that don't count as a 'death' affect the ratio in any way?

1.  Landed
2.  Bailed
3.  Ditched
4.  Captured
5.  Killed

They all count as a death except for landing and getting a ditch. A ditch gives you 1/2 a death.

Kills in Field guns or Ship's guns also do not count toward rank.  And, I think Sunsfan is correct -- Ground kills in fighter mode do not count toward rank, and I think kills in a chute do not count (but don't quote me on that.)

I would guess that kills in bombers dont count either.

Shame they don't count, ie.......shore battery, field guns, CV gun kills, etc.  I think the skill it takes to achieve those kills could at least count towards GV perks....at the very least.  A kill is a kill.  It has always frustrated me to actively defend a carrier, walk away with 15 kills.........yet get no reward.

disco counts has half death.. as far as k/d, ditch is as good as landing

Kills per Death = TotalKills / ((Discos * 0.5) + Bails + Captures + Deaths + 1)

the reward is name in lights, which is more than enough considering there is no risk to gunning.

No risk to gunning?  Do you not take the risk of being bombed?  I quite often advise my squad "Take Out The Shore Battery!".  If a CV is shelling a base isn't it standard Ops to eliminate the guns?  Attacking a CV, isn't it standard Ops to remove the anti-aircraft first?  No Risk?!?  I think not.

But that's only my Opinion.  You get into a gun position, and I'm here to tell ya, I'll put the word out to my squad "KILL THE GUNS".

While they do not have any influence on score and rank, they do not run under the "Total Kills not counted towards Rank" category.

As it had been said before, kill with this label are GV kills in fighter mode and all kills made in guns

No, you are only half dead with a disco. A ditch is no AH "death"
