So it is much like Rivet City in FO3, you screw them over, and they're finished with ya?

yes. the only faction you can truly screw over to the point that your "vilified" and they will forgive you for it is the legion, and they'll only do it once.

but you dont HAVE to start the game over if you arent going for the ncr sided ending of the game.

and a little note that might interest the AH community:

(mini spoilers) theres a mission with a faction called "The Boomers" (they are nicknamed this because of the artillery they posess) where you have to lift a 200 yr old b29 superfortress out of the bottom of lake mead. this mission has some rl facts behind it due to there actually being a real b29 superfortress as the bottom of lake mead that crashlanded there.

the boomers restore the b29 to flying condition at there airfield and will use it to aid you in the battle for hoover dam by droping mini nukes on the legion as they raid the dam. they nickname the bomber "Pearl" after there overseeer.

Okay. So I'm guessing what basically happens is...

Find Liberty Prime, the remnants of the BoS, high-tail it to the Hoover Dam, have a huge malfunction, go into a highly irradiated chamber, kill yourself so that the people of the Mojave live long and non-irradiated lives.

(I haven't seen much radiation around.... at all).
Landing is overrated.

:lol not even close. liberty prime isent in NV. i dout we'll ever see him again (even tho he was pretty cool robot)

theres 3 major players at the dam battle: The NCR and the Legion. all other factors pretty much become small helping factors.

but depending on what path you took, you can become the biggest factor by using your securitrons.

Okay, weird thing, it appears that in the NCR village, I have been vilified, but when I enter the NCR Ranger Outpost, they acted friendly and never even looked twice at me... :headscratch:

Alright, I got Boone, he killed off the perp who sold his wife. Apparently I'm still in good terms with the NCR, it was just the powder gangers that had taken the correctional facility who were angry with me, not the NCR officials themselves.

The Ranger station was Station Charlie. Just found out they were kaput and told the guy in Novac and then I gained fame from the NCR (you people lied?)  :D   I also learned a ranger move fromn the crippled guy, but I don't know what a "power move" is... That isn't from FO3 from my memory.

Another word of wisdom from a fallout veteran: Don't go to far off of the main roads if your playing at night. It was 2am and I accidentally wandered into the quarry, I heard a loud noise, and saw the deathclaw. I don't think i have ever screamed that loud before, but I managed to wake up my parents, and give Serenity a startle because we were both in an xbox live party.

In short: when your paranoid don't play fallout.

I mastered FO3, so don't think I'm not well acquainted with the game layout. I've now gotten the hang of most of the things in the game and now I'm playing on Hard.

They should make a Fallout 4, which gives you many options from the start.

Load previous weapons from FO3? Start as a beginner? Start as a member of the Enclave or BoS and then venture out? What happened after the purifier? What happened to the Enclave and the BoS? What happened to "The Good Fight?" What happened to the Capital Wasteland!?

All questions I really wish Bethesda would answer... in the form of a videogame.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO PLAY FALLOUT 1 AND 2... :rofl
