Lions have all the markings of an up and coming team. They played some pretty good teams really tough. I dont think anyone can just automatically chalk one up in the win column in advance when they see they have them on their schedule anymore.

As a Bears fan, I'm always excited for Lions games as I know they will be good.

Someday (soon) they'll be contenders.

I see it in the next couple years especially with couple other teams including the Rams who are young teams getting better through the draft.

I still would of rather seen the Rams got Suh as freaks like that only come around once in awhile, QBs come around in every draft.

You have not been paying attention. The Lions only play well when it doesn't count.  That is, pre-season and after their record is so shot as to allow no possibility of sneaking into the playoffs.

thats because if they do sneak into the play offs they loose the 1st game in the 1st quater!

i grow up outside of Pontiac in Waterford........ my dad had season tickets to the games, most to give to his customers but we would go to a few a year!

Hell i remember the whole "another one bites the dust" (Lions mix) during the 80s!  Billy Simms,  Freddy Scott, Dexter B,  Horace King, Gary Danialson, Erice Hipple, and Eddy Murry!

Hell met Barry S. several times!   1st time i sold him 3 silk shirts and some shorts from Mens Express(Structure now)  At the time i didnt even know it was him till i looked at the name on his A-mex platnum card!

but alas ive move to NC. where we have an even worse team!

But will allways be a Lions fan! :aok

Stanton and hill are both pretty good QB's, they are getting to be a much better team.

Being a North Shore kid I am a Bears fan but also follow Indy & Green Bay.

I used to watch Detroit games just to see Alex Karras.

Singletary reminded me of Karras with the whole "crazy eyes" deal.  Karras had vision problems, Singletary knew it scared the excrement out of opposing QB's.

All those Upper Midwest teams (used to be) in the the same conference so it made for odd times when visiting "enemy territory".  In college (at Winona State U in Minnesota) the fans for the Vikings, Bears, and Green Bay all watched the game in "friendly" floor smokers in different dorms.  Sometimes fights broke out if you didn't.

I don't begrudge Detroit for doing better.  It's been a rough road for them ever since the Sanders days ended.  Anything that makes the conference better is a good thing.

PS--I still DO NOT believe the Bears are remotely ready for the post season.  Their QB + offensive line should be stripped of their equipment, paid out the rest of their contracts and given bus fare home so the Bears can start over.  Lovey needs to go as well as the offensive line and backs coaches.

I absolutely hate Cutler.  I really didnt give him the time or day thinking he would be great coming out of college.  Personally I love Mike Martz though as an offensive coordinator.  Im a Rams fan so I might be a tad biased but he is an offensive guru and can make any QB good.  Hell look what he did with Kitna in Detroit granted he couldnt help Alex Smith at all in San Fran lol.  That just shows Alex Smith is a lost subject.

Cutler spends more time on his back than a $2 hooker.

Yet he continues to get up and take the snaps.

Gotta give him credit for that. (Every other Bears QB for the last 30 years would be out injured long ago.)

Mike Martz got more credit than he deserved.

I agree.  I absolutely despised Martz and his pass-happy offense when he was with Detroit.  When you play four quarters and your rush attempts for a game are barely above single digits, there is a problem.
