Glad to hear you caught this in time, and am hoping you will experience a full recovery.  (With worse luck, you could have died in your sleep). 

The positive side of this event is that, from your description, it looks like you will get an opportunity to recover and take the medical precautions necessary to avoid a recurrence.

Dear friend of AH,
I am home!  My family and I want to thank each and every one of you for your thoughts and prayers.  Having the heart attack has left Nikki and I in a state of shock, as well as others who are close to us.  I am glad to be home to see my family.
Meeting with the cardiovascular specialist, he is puzzled as to why I had the heart attack.  Although there is some family history of heart issues, he pointed out two questions: 1) why a young, healthy person who does not drink, smoke, eat healthy and does not have high blood pressure or cholesterol issues, had this clot. 2) Why was the clot so far down of the LAD artery (left anterior descending)?
Despite of this event, it will not stop me from continuing to have a normal life style.  I just have to take it easy for the next couple of weeks. It did make me think a lot and see that life can be short lived.  With that, i have come to find peace with inside of me and others.  For all you on AH who i have bump heads with, i don't want to fight anymore.  There is to much more important problems out there then this cartoon game.    So i want to declare truce......but may still bombed you in my P-47D-25.  :D

There are several genetic factors which cause people to have blood clots.  I hope they are testing you for those.

I agree with fencer on this you may have a genetic defect that allows your blodd to clot natuarly over time and i 2 hope they are testing for this. And i have also read and heard about some similar cases in Atheliete's I think it was something in their diet that promoted natural clotting of the blood.

But im no Doctor so it might be worth asking please do take all the nessery precations to prevent this again as we all know for the old time players we are not so much a family but a close community we are in affect neighbours and good ones at that. So we dont want to loose anyone as it is a wrench to the community.

I will be starting rehab next week.  They will run stress test, going over family history, food intake among other things.  hopefully we can come up reasons on why i had a clot. The cardiovascular specialist did said that i had a little Plaque build up in the arteries but nothing out of the ordinary.   Among the blood work, the only concern they had was that the bad cholesterol level was a bit high (111, where they want to see 70).

I met an old man years ago that was 97 years old. I asked him "Sir, what has been your secret over all these years. His reply to me was "Ill smoke my cigarettes, have my shot of whiskey in the morning and love my women" I about fell over then.

My point to this. I believe all this is nothing more than genetics. Me? It is my destiny to die of a heart attack. The same as my father, his father, his fathers father. All died of massive heart attacks out of no where.
