AH experiment in response to Fugi's horde thread
« on: January 03, 2011, 07:10:54 PM »
Set up a single LW for a week.  Change the country names to anything but what they are, Sierra, Hotel, Lima or something similar.

1000 perks for winning the war each.

Conditions of the win, is your 'country has to take out both of the other countries. We're talking total conquest, complete destruction of every base. Make it also possible to have one country be eliminated, forcing the players to have to choose which other country they go to.

I'd be really curious as  to who and how many would fly for the country on the end that was losing and how many would swarm to the 'winning' team in hopes of getting the perks of a potential 'win'

I'd also be curious as to how many of the 'horde buster' guys would stick it out to the end against the horde :)

1000 perks is insanely high. Of course the winning country would have massive numbers with a "reward" like that. That's probably something like the total perks an average player can make in 6 months or even a year or so.

OK I don't pay attention to perks.  Make it reasonable.  Just curious to see how people would react :)

Yeah I know it's a non-starter, but can't stop me from having goofy thoughts!

I have the distinct feeling it would suck mightily for any "defender," and they would log out in frustration in very short order, leaving the winning side to capture the last 20 bases or so completely unopposed.

I like this idea.  I'd also enjoy watching the "Elite Mission Planners" get smacked down.

Make it really interesting and award the perk points to the side that loses.

Genius!!
I do think HT should change the country aspect of it and get different people to fly together. Perhaps change the names every tour and have people choose a side. This whole chesspeice superhero stuff is a breeding ground for Napoleon armchair generals.

I think it'd be more of a hassle for those who only wish to fly with friends, which (IMHO) there are far more people.
