Yes and I just heard this morning that she is the 9 year old Grand daughter of Dallas Green who was the Phillies skipper back in the early 80's. It hits a little closer because his wife was a history teacher of mine in high school.

I am in Giffords district and didn't agree with her choices about how she voted. I had hoped that she would be unsuccessful in her re election bid but never had a thought that she should be hurt in office. She was open and liked to talk to folks, that's what made her vulnerable to this head case yesterday. She does have good qualities and gained respect for them, even from me.

Arizona has the death penalty but I doubt this clown will be subject to it. He's a nut job and I'm sure will be found incompetent to stand trial. Personally I think he ought to be put down like any other diseased dangerous to others animal. Not so much as punishment, just as a way to keep others safe from him.

He had no criminal background or convictions, why not.

Now he was determined by the Military to be unfit, but they did not elaborate.  

Every human being has the capability to do such a thing out of anger, revenge, or just stupidity, most do not act on it, why is it only then we consider a person deranged.  
The military could have or should have shared that information with law enforcement which in turn would probably brought attention to him sooner, who knows.
