I was watching the Military Bowl for high school students and NBC chimed in and said that she had died.  Turns out that she is in surgery at the University Medical center and is in Critical condition.

WTF possesses people to do crap like this I will never understand....

 :pray goes out to the families of everyone that was shot and their loved ones in the hospital.

I do not know why too, guttboy.  I have a high school classmate that is a RN in the ICU at the hospital.  she was called in when this happen so i will get some info on the ppl that got shot.

A gunman walked through a group of people at a gathering for Rep Gabrielle Giffords of Arizona.  He reportedly went through the crowd and shot people in the head at point blank range.  There have been on and off reports of some people dying as a result of their injuries.  The congresswoman is in surgery right now with a bullet wound to the head according to reports.  

Another legislator is on Fox news says that they think she will make it through surgery and is responding to simple commands.  She was shot in the temple according to the reports on now.

"Jared Lee Loughner, the man who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.), was described by eyewitnesses as a young white man who looked like a "fringe character."

Loughner shot Giffords and 12 others at a public event at a Safeway grocery store in Tucscon. He reportedly shot the congresswoman "point blank" in the head and may have come from inside the store. After shooting Giffords, he allegedly fired 20-30 rounds and hit "a number of people," including a child. He attempted to flee after running out of ammunition and was tackled by one of Giffords' staffers.

Eyewitnesses have described Laughner as "young, mid-to-late 20s, white, clean-shaven with short hair and wearing dark clothing."

He was arrested upon arrival of the sheriff's department."

"The judge who was killed at today's shooting has been identified as Cheif Federal Judge John Roll."
