? on Oscilloscope used in JS Setup
« on: January 31, 2000, 12:41:00 PM »

My question is, should the sine wave that is depicted when testing the movement of the joystick axis stay within the confines of the joystick 'oscilloscope' window or is it ok if the peaks exceed the top or bottom of that window?
I have a smooth sine wave but the peaks of the sine wave for all four axis would be about a 1/4 of an inch beyond the top and bottom of the window.
The reason I ask is I recalibrated my CH equipment and it does not feel the same any more when I was flying over the weekend.
I was not sure if the optimal setting would have a depiction of the entire sine wave depiction staying enclosed within the 'o-scope' window.

Thanks in advance!

When you say you recalibrated, do you mean in Windows or AH.  Anytime you recalibrate in Windows, make sure you do the same in AH.

Sorry about that. In AH. For me, I always calibrate in my Gamecard III utility, then in windows and finally in AH before flying or whenever the stick feels 'off' alot.
I was curious as to how big of a sine wave in the AH window I should see when testing
the stick and rudder axis' .

It should correspond with the cross in the lower window.  I noticed on my setup that I'm getting something similar.  I'll run some tests on it.

Thanks Pyro. I wasn't sure if having the crest of the sin wave going up or down out of sight meant I now needed to scale the stick with the AH scaling to the right of that window.
I did find after I calibrated and everything lookd ok that I reallu sukked at flying again. And I was not sure if that was me (which would be no real surprise) or if my stick was way out of wack now and I was pulling too fast or slow now because of some change. And having not made a large mental notation on the test window indications I was wondering how the sine wave should look when optimum settings were in place.
