Yeah.. it's getting old now. You know, my personal opinion is exactly that... my personal opinion. HiTech Creations is NOT going to change their moderation practices because of only my opinion, so to blame me personally for a thread getting locked is simply ignorant. Yes the thread was locked, but that was probably due to what the OP said in that final post (of which I never saw because it was deleted by HiTech Creations). I reported only one single post containing one of the more gory of the pictures that were posted in that thread. At that point it is HiTech's decision as to how to handle it (if at all).
For the record I did not care about the thread getting locked or not, I simply did not see how posting bloody corpses of dead animals was beneficial to an Aces High community bulletin board. Instead of slamming me, calling me names, and even resorting to messaging and emailing threats and obscenities to me you guys might have considered explaining to me your side of the story and maybe I would have understood better. My intent was not to start a riot on the forums, and the fact that you have encouraged that to happen only makes you look more ignorant.
HiTech's posting rule #6 specifically forbids "generally offensive text, images, links, etc." but the question is what constitutes "generally offensive?" I would take that to mean offensive to the majority of HiTech Creation's staff. They've made it perfectly clear that scantily clad obese women are "generally offensive" and since I find pictures of carcasses laying in pools of blood to be even more so - well I reported it. It's that plain and simple. Isn't that why the reporting system even exists?
Yes, you can argue that you have the First Amendment rights to free speech (actually, that's not even necessarily accurate as this is a privately owned message board, but let's play along for the time being) but that also gives me the right to state my opinions on what you have to say. In my opinion, you should be extremely happy that I was able to say what I said, because it also gives you the right to say what you have to say as well. Now the fact that HiTech has NOT deleted the pictures I have problems with nor have they locked other threads with similar images that have not gotten out of hand tells me that they don't agree with me about pictures of dead animals being "generally offensive" and that I can live with. I didn't truly expect them to change their policies simply because of my opinion.. but I still felt that I had an opinion that needed to be heard.
I should also add that it is not hunting in general I have issues with. While it's obviously not my cup of tea, I have no problems whatsoever with going out and shooting deer, ducks, rabbits... whatever wild animals that can legally be hunted... ESPECIALLY if the meat (and other parts) get put to good use. I think it's a great idea to donate the extra meat to the communities that need it the most and I definitely encourage that, but I'll state it again - I don't like looking at pictures of dead animals with bloody wounds and in some cases with their internals hanging out in the open. It's not that I'm squeamish, I just don't see the point in it. I'd rather see pictures of all of the meat being donated to feed the hungry.. or the skins being donated to warm the cold.. or perhaps even the body after having been properly prepared by a taxidermist.. or at least cleaned up.
Perhaps I am the only one in the entire world that has this belief. Perhaps I'm totally in the wrong here... or perhaps not! Regardless, does my one little opinion actually deserve all of the obscenities, threats, and immaturity I've had to endure over the past several days? I really don't think so.
So lets try this again. I will note that any threats or profanities I receive will be reported to HiTech Creations (again) so please stay out of me email and PM. If you want to talk about this in a way that HiTech Creations allows, then by all means feel free to add to this discussion. If you can't post without breaking the rules then perhaps you're better off staying out of it. And this includes you, Mr. Dunn.
As far as I am concerned, unless it is discussed in this thread then I am done with this topic.
*Note to the moderators: If you feel that my post might be the catalyst of a thread that could get out of control, then please consider locking this topic but not deleting my post. I feel as if I make some very valid points here that need to be read by those who have taken what I have had to say so close to heart that they felt it necessary to break forum rules and even possibly some laws to get their 'point' across.
