British 3in Rockets Absent in AH???

Alright, can some one please explain to me why HTC (perhaps even HTC themselves?    ) is using the 3.5in rockets on its British aircraft when I can not find a single picture or bit of information showing that anything other than the 3in/60lb rocket was used throughout the war on the Mossi, Typhoon, Swordfish, etc.  The 3.5in rockets were of Soviet and US design, and only used by the British in the initial trials.

Or... is there something I am missing and none of my sources cover the matter???

Im away from my manuals atm (out of town), but another tidbit I think I remember is that the 3in/60lb rockets has more explosives than the US 5in rockets.

well. because htc is american and its an american game....notice not many variations to other countries rides like the p-47 and f4u have///with the exception of the spit(but some are missing) and the fw 190(but some options are mission) and bf109.....not much italian,no french,no hungarian,some great japanese and russian rides absent,etc.

At work at the moment, but Beau's for example used another type of rocket.  I'll post photos when I get home.  I'm sure the Mossies did too.

I don't think your opinion on that matter has much to do with why the 3 inch rockets are or are not in the game.    I will agree that it would be nice to see the D520, Ki-43 "Oscar", Ki-45 "Nick", Pe-2, Tu-2, MiG-3, Fiat G55, He-111, Wellington, and many many variants of the m3 and SdKfz 251 added.  But, beggars cant be choosers.

Took me a  bit to see what you were asking.
What I've come across in the Beaufighter stuff is reference to the 6" Head (Shell HE. 60LB S.A.P) rocket and the 3"Head  (25 LB. A.P. Solid) rocket.  The latter being used attack shipping and were fired at the target below to waterline to pierce the hull.

These were the warheads on the 3 inch rocket used by the RAF.

Beau's and Mossies used both.

The Tiffie seems to be carrying the former in the game.  The markings on the nose of the rocket in game are corrrect for the 6" 60LB SAP.

No idea where the 3.5 designation came from.

I have no idea why it's labeled wrong but it's clearly a 3 in 60 lb S.A.P.

they should pack more of a punch than the 5" HVARS though surely? over double the KE and a much large explosive charge ...

I'm glad I wasnt the only one to notice that.   

The US 5in HVAR carried a 21 kg (45lb) HE warhead and flew nearly 950 mph.

The British 3in SAP carried a 27 kg (60 lb) HE/SAP warhead and flew nearly 1200 mph.

More things that make ya go "hmmmmm" with regards to assigned damage values in AH.

I knew they were fired a little in front of ships and subs to penetrate under the waterline, didnt think they would go so deep though, or float apparently
