Air Heritage's new Transformer character...
« on: January 08, 2011, 07:15:46 PM »
Looks like it too me... :) I call him Monkeycong...  Old recon plane by day... decepticon monkey warrior by night  :noid

it was just brought into the hangar for its annual. Hopefully this year it will be flying. Bad fire bottles kept it grounded last year and we just got new ones in from California. However it has a small problem with the right gear, so we have it jacked up so we can swing them

Our hangar is really filling up though. We had to take out the T-3 and put it next to the F-15 outside. On Monday we have two trucks pulling trailers going to the University of West Virginia to pick up two aircraft, a Cessna 150 (we will fly it eventually) and a BD-4 (static). Then once they get back and into the hangar we will bring our C-123K into the hangar. our hangar is only 120x120 but the actual hangar floor is only about 120Wx100D

Inside we will have (in order of footprint):
1946 Funk B (only 1 wing on the floor, fuselage was hung on the wall to make room and other wing hasn’t been put together yet)
Piper L-21 (wings not attached but will have to be and it will receive its annual)
Cessna 150 (will come separated, not sure if wings will be reattached once off the trailers and in the hangar)
BD-4 (Same as C150)
Beechcraft T-34 Mentor (in restoration but fuselage and wings are separated)
Fairchild F-24 (being restored, wings recently attached)
North American T-28B
Grumman OV-1D (annual)
Fairchild C-123K (Annual)

Grand total of 9 aircraft on the floor and in between all this we have our multiple static displays (engines, b25 nose, etc) and equipment and tools.

yup, it also has the light pod on the wing mount outside the right drop tank.

He is in disguise

my dad said he thinks it reminds him of pluto from Disney with the light blue area in the nose being his teeth.
