these two books

I am thinking about adding to my small but growing aircraft library by purchasing these two books

Fw 190:Defending the Reich

and

Fw 190 in North Africa

from what I hear, the later in the best reference available for finding information about Fw 190's service in africa, but I am not sure about the first book, anyone have it/read it?

The second book must be kind of small since there were so few 190s that ever made it to North Africa.

How so?   Take his Elefant "wish".   Had he read more about the Battle of Kursk, he'd never have wished for the useless TD.   It is a great book all around and he'd learn something.

It might seem expensive now but once the print run is bought up the cost will skyrocket. Last time I checked, for example, the Classic 262 volumes were going for around $500 or more each (initial cost iirc was $75). The Black Star/Red Cross series by Berstrum (sp?) is now in the 3 digits as well.

Isn't that the truth.  I'm amazed at what some of the book on my shelves now go for.  Glad I got em when i did.

Strike and Strike Again, the history of 455 Squadron flying Beaufighters is a good example.  The lowest price I could find now is $275.  It's not that old, but I'm glad I got it when i did for the Beau collection.
