I appreciate it. Actually my biggest problem is making out the bad guys. I have color vision problems (often called color blindness) and its hard for me to see them without the tags against the ground if they are below me. I wil keep at it though..the AvA theatre just seems a better place to play fighter pilot.
ok.....one of the tricks to spotting them if they're low......you need to be co-alt, or slightly below them. when i go into a low(below3k) alt fight there, i head in skimming the tree tops. if i'm in an area without trees, then i'm cutting the rabbits ears off with my props. this lets you see that little black dot before they see you(hopefully). at that point, as you get a little closer, you can decide if you want to climb, and be above, or co-altr, and go from there.
one of the keys, is that once you're in the fight with them, do not let them get more than D600 or so away. that's the point where you're likely to lose sight, as the camo works extremely well.

in my sig line there's a link to the ava website. there's a write up in there by dawger with a LOT of helpful tips for flying in here.  :aok

going NOE is especially rewarding if you catch somebody heading away and napping... sneak up under them and unload :D

that is sometimes the favorite tactic of some of the axis pile-its. they also use this to evade....get into a hard turning fight, and lose you when you have to switch views. happend to me a few times...and i think soulss said it happened to him too.

since i can't afford the vr goggles i was thinking about, i may try a trackir5 though, to eliminate that view switching.

I've been using TrackIR for nearly 4 years now.  It's a great way to get the real world feel to the game and push the immersion deeper.  :salute  I can't tell you how many times that has helped me NOE Dichotomy from deep six and light him up....but, in a friendly way.  :D

I have track ir and love it!  I don't get motion sickness but I did with track ir.  There seems to be a thing called simulator sickness that effects people who don't normally get motion sick.  There is about a three month average learning curve to track ir.  You will hate it at first but use it everytime for at least a few months and you won't go back.  #1 rule don't switch back and forth for first few months.  It's good in the MA's priceless in AvA!
If you find yourself in a fair fight your tactics suck!

that's part of why i'm getting one. when i get into a hard turn fight low, where i go from the forward/up view to the up view, the thing does this little spin, like i'm spinning my head as i look up....that's when i often lose em. by the same token, i've lost guys off my six the same way.  :devil

i figure with the trackir, once i got eyes on the con, as long as i can keep him in front for the most part, i ain't losin sight of him.
