very simple wish.
« on: January 12, 2011, 02:32:48 AM »
HTC, please make the cursor smaller like it was back in summer/before the major update. it makes it hard for us mouse users to fly sometimes with that giant arrow floating around our screen.  :salute

Can't you stick it in the corner and press 'H'?

Anyway, I saw a thread where someone explained how to do it. Search it up, or they'll be along eventually to explain.

no, may sound strange but to me it feels like the manueverability of the plane is determined by where the cursor is place on the plane  :headscratch: if i put it way off to the left of the screen it allways feels like the plane wants to bank to the right when i go to do something, i usually place it in the middle of the dashboard which works fine, but blocks out some of the dials.

you joking right? put it right in the middle on the bottom of the screen.  that way it can balance your plane.

done that, but because of how big it is that can block out some dials on the dashboard in some planes.

amuse me here. which plane and which dials does it block?  because i check off line a couple of minutes ago and i can put the cursor on the bottom of the screen on every single plane and it doesnt block any dials completely or to the point where you cannot see the needle.  It's more like in your head thing that you may be obsessed with, because to be honest, I dont even see the cursor while flying.  then again I dont look at the instrument panel either.  I determine things like speed and alt based on the engine sound and outside visuals while in a furball.

He said YOU CANT SEE THE NEEDLE. you cant see the cursor of the mouse therefore none of the plane's dials will be blocked

Somebody did post a link once where you can copy the original cursor and replace the big one in your AH file. They gave complete instructions on how to do it. I also didn't like that huge cursor. Just use the search feature and look for it. If you don't have any luck, I will try and help you look for it later.   :salute

Just replace the existing one in your AH file on your C drive. And here's the link to the thread it was in in case you have any problems

here ya go

Knite edited the cursor and got rid of the pixel line on the right side

small cursor download link: http://khrymsyn.infinited.net/Aces%20High/TechSuppt/cursor.bmp

threads talking about cursor

Just download the cursor from the link provided to desktop or wherever, and the drop it into your AHII folder, overwriting the cursor file that's in there.  It will give you the old, smaller cursor back, with a fix.  With the old cursor, when you used anti-aliasing, you could see a box around the cursor.  This fixed one by Knite took care of that.

 :salute

hope this helps

edit: eheh DaCoon is on his toes this morning  :aok  Top of the day to ya DC

"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC
