Microphone Suggestions
« on: January 14, 2011, 10:02:54 AM »
I finally got a mic to work (somewhat) but its a bit old and has headphones attached. What I'm really looking for is a microphone only solution that is held in place with an ear clip, much like a bluetooth mic. Curious if anyone uses such a device and if they could recommend one. Would like to keep it under $50.

AAIByteU had one of those.  The single ear clip was terribly hard to get to fit properly, and most of the time it'd just fall off if you moved your head too much.  I'm sure there's some out there that are better, but after seeing what that one was like I prefer the regular headset style.

I  just dont like things wrapped around my head, and would prefer not to use earphones. My BOSE pc speakers do  very nice job

I just put the headphones around my neck most of the time.
(sensitive ears I guess)

That keeps the mic in the right spot.

I wrap my mike headset around my joystick with the microphone extension facing toward me. As far as I can tell, people hear me just fine. While this isn't what you were looking for, it's an option to consider worth saving up to $50.00. ;)

Keep in mind too that when using speakers, the mic will pick up the game sounds while your talking, sometimes making it very hard to understand what your saying.
