It's a meaty read, but if you can wade through it there's probably none better.

I think it's been posted here before, but the navy acm manual is excellent also. 
You should be able to find it online as a .pdf for free.  I may have a copy of it myself even, if you can't find it.

I found a link to a .pdf at cnatra.navy.mil. However, Firefox made a big stink about the site being untrustworthy so I didn't go there.

If anyone has used this site without harm or has a copy of the .pdf I'd like to know.

Most gov websites  give me same message.  I just continue anyways with no problems.

Shaw's book is a great learning tool.  I just focus on the tactics for guns and not missiles.  I usually read a few pages, then logged into AH to practice what I've just read.  For me, that caused me to get shot down more often, but as I progressed into the chapter, I improved as well as found a greater appreciation of each dogfight.
