Although that photo is now used for humor, that is an actual photo of a Russian Dog Mine in training.  

The interesting thing about this photo......  The Russians stated they stopped using dogs as an anti-tank weapon in 1942, but looking at this photo, that turret is that of a T34/85. (circa 1944)

Sorry, giggling a bit here.......visualizing this big fat donkey "sneaking" up all tippee toed, nose to the ground, thinking he is behind the bushes because if he cant see the enemy, surely they cant see him .................. :rolleyes:

 The Shepard walking down the street, holding his donkey, approaches a checkpoint.........  They use animals as improvised explosives (anti-personnel) instead of anti-tank/AV.
