Wireless mouse seems to disable screensaver - Win 7 64-bit
« on: January 17, 2011, 07:24:41 AM »
If I forget to remove my wireless mouse transmitter from its USB port, my screensaver doesn't ever come on.   This is a Microsoft wireless mouse.
I just started using a wireless mouse with this system.  I've confirmed that with the wireless mouse removed, the screensaver does kick in.

Screensaver works fine when using the mouse with Vista laptop.

Also, can you burn images into LCD screen by leaving the same image up too long, or was that just a problem with CRTs?

EDIT:  Just did a search an found a description of problem and workaround at Microsoft's support site: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913405

Installed and tested; problem solved.

Screensavers are not required anymore in order to save your monitor. Even CRT technology is beyond the old problems and have been for more than ten years (more like twenty).
If you like the Sick Puppy Custom Sound Pack the please consider contributing for future updates by sending a months dues to Hitech Creations for account "Chalenge." Every little bit helps.

To lock the machine after x minutes of inactivity. :)

Only real use for them.

I have a bunch of monitors at work (of both types) that would prove you wrong.

I would have to agree with del on this one I had a lcd monitor that I acidently burned this website into you are able to read the postings on the screen itself. I had to get rid of it because it was difficult trying to fly between a post from skuzzy and del. So I say that screen savers actually work.

Simple solution. Turn the screen saver off. And power saving mode on.

My monitor shuts down after 15 min of inactivity
