Idol 2011
« on: January 19, 2011, 08:18:59 PM »
Idol 2011.  Looks interesting so far.  Some interesting characters made it through the screening, and the judges seem interesting.  I admit I kept waiting for Tyler to say something "unfortunate" because he seems to forget that he's on TV sometimes (like when he asked Randy if he was looking at J-Lo's butt) but overall it seemed like a decent start to the season.

Anyone else?  Haters can feel free to keep their replies short, everyone else chime in!

You're watching it on Fox?

Just saw another J-Lo commercial during the break...  That could get annoying if they run too many cosmetics ads with her.  They also ran at least one ad with Tyler doing the voice-over, so I wonder if that is the new marketing hook this year, over-using J-Lo and Tyler for ads during the show.  That could get really annoying.

Last year's season was sort of blah, no doubt about it.  I think they're trying to switch up some things this year.

the producers of  idol stated that this year there wasent going to be much harsh critisizm from the judges.

plenty of reason for me not to watch it.

I've never been a fan...  Not enough rock/metal for me.  Although Steven Tyler is a riot, and Jennifer Lopez is just...  WOW.  I may have to take a peek from time to time.

Wife watches it. I'll pop in to give a short few minute gander once in a while. The only conclusion I can draw is that,

I haven't watched Idol in the last 10 years but caught it last night when the kid was watching it. Steve Tyler had me in stitches.

Don't usually watch it...decided to take a peek last night.

1) They judged way too nicely, or the producers decided to show wayy too many decent performances/vs bad ones.
2) Steven Tyler is hilarious
3) The crazy showtunes girl was interesting, wanna see wherre that pans out.
4) The boy scout with the Frank Sinatra rendition was LOL funny
5) The 21 year old re-auditioner and the dude with the long curly hair will make it far I think
6) The Asian Michael Jackson Miley Cyrus singer..... :O :O :O :O  :rofl :bolt:
