I'm religious, let me get that out.  Now, knowing how many different people here have different views, I can see nothing but arguments coming from a religious and or political forum.  I think a good discussion is healthy at times, but have you read this board?  Some come here to grief and nothing more.  And it would be hard to discuss something that you so strongly believe in with someone who believes the opposite.  Wars have been started that way.  I think you did the right thing by asking for it on the wishlist, but I think of all the forums, that one would need the most moderation and Skuzzys overwhelmed as it is.

Agreed, but I would just like to say that it isn't the topic itself that causes the arguments, it's the people discussing it.  I think what you said about the moderation problem is spot on.
Afk for a year or so.  The name of a gun turret in game.  Falanx, huh?

first off I want to say awesome game im a dedacated customer of yours and will always be. A topic in the Oclub touches on serious issues, but I cant get into it, can we have a "Oclub" just for religious and political topics? If it was just for those topics then those visiting it would know what to expect, many people I feel would go there, I thinkthese issues are very important and we could use a place to discuss them.

Never gonna happen ink.

I have been playing this game now going on 10 years and have been reading this BBS since then also. Previous to the total banning of all political and religious topics in the O'Club, 99.9999999% of all of the threads that discussed those topics ALWAYS degraded to an outright nasty fight and personal attacks were off the hook.

At the tender age of 57, I have never seen, in my life, any political or religious discussion not turn into a shouting match and get ugly ... if the participants truly embrace their views or opinions on the subject.

You have to keep in mind that this their business and what people see and read on this BBS reflects on their business. That is reason why all these forums are moderated and threads are edited and/or locked. Previous to the banning of these topics, and me personally looking at all the threads that Skuzzy had to edit and/or lock that were political or religious topics was unbelievable. Yeah, it's Skuzzy's job to moderate these forums, but it's not his only job and I would be the ranch that he cringes everyday he fires up the browser and then starts to scan this BBS. I don't care how you twist it, it just can't be fun, as an adult, trying to moderate out-of-control adults on a daily basis. He would probably prefer sticking sharp pencils in his eye as opposed to having to moderate this BBS.

If a political/religious forum were introduced on this BBS, and it needed to be moderated so that HTC doesn't look bad, there would really be nothing to read because most of the posts would be edited out or the thread would be locked and Skuzzy would be back in the same boat he was a few years back and he surely doesn't want to sail on that ship again.

You are ignorant, stick to what you know... The kiddie pool.   Toad is probably one of the most well spoken people I have had the pleasure of reading.  You'll never know because you're stuck in preconceived notion of what FW is. Will I admit there is a bunch of name calling BS trolling going on there ...yes there is. However there can be serious discussions of constitutional/political issues, which I'm sure you have no problem with a dissenting opinion and could clearly rebuff it.

Again stay in the shallows there be big fish out in the deep.

I think I see what you guys are saying, it is sad that we cant talk about serious issues without it turning into a texting war,and insults.    maybe I will give FW's a second look at.....

I am a very level headed hard to torque off kinda guy so it would not really bother me. Some folks can go off at anything at all.  As a personal policy I never discuss politics or religion with my friends or customers.  To easy for a conversation to get off the rails with some of the hot button issues out there.  Much respect Sir, but -1.

Great forum by the way.. It is definitely not for kids, but good discussions without the rule14 every other sentence. Not that I am against the rules of this forum. It is HTC's forum and they can make whatever rules they want.. I did not think that it was created to spite this forum though...

lol...In Aces High , this all came to an end. A group of people that had known each other for years in the various games congregated in the O-Club and discussed politics, religion, guns, cars, art, music and everything else under the sun. Sometimes these discussions got very, very heated. As Aces High was a business, the company tried to keep the discussions pretty clean, work safe and reasonable. They did this by creating rules and monitoring the discussions. The moderation grew more and more intense, leading to accusations of favoritism towards some posters and general disenchantment with the environment. Rebellion ensued with increasing rule violations. The company finally threatened to shut down the O-club and bans of posters became frequent.

At that point, Caper12, King chit, created Flamewarriors as an unmoderated board for these old reprobate flight simmers. A general exodus of all the cool guys occurred.

An excerpt from flamewarriors, I take this paragraph as meaning they were tired of getting skuzzified so they went elsewhere.....maybe spite wasn't the right word.

But in any case if this is your cup of tea then drink it.  I just don't get off on trying to one up everything people post with curse words and pornography.

I was told..in no uncertain terms......that I may have pushed this envelope here almost single-handedly.

when I first got here......I easily launched 15 to 20 political threads per week.  heavily participated in....but all virtually shut down sooner or later...as most inevitably veered off topic and became far too heated.

lol....

the problem is that most are not looking to sanely talk about anything, they just want to get into verbal arguments. Either that, or most people fail to be able to look objectively at anything and instead personalize everything.

just look at how aggressively Brok attacked Belial for Belial's feelings toward flaimwarrior.net... as if brok is flaimwarriors.net.
