was watching BBC America because Top Gear was on, saw a commercial for tonight's World News, and so i decided to watch.

I think i've found a new news station. very unbiased, really does investigate subjects directly, finds the perspective of the story from a view you never thought of, I really do like it.

I probably will never watch FOX News again :aok

apples & oranges man

BBC is like the equivalent of China's CCTV and USA's PBS.

The closest you can get to state-run BBC News in the US is to watch PBS and Nightly News from ABC, CBS and NBC.
Cable news on the other hand is like the wild west because they're not held by FCC's strict rules on news reporting.

The best and responsible way to gather news these days is to get news from multiple sources.  Don't rely with just single source.

Holy skuzzinators batman.

The BBC isn't perfect, but I would definetley put it a few tiers above Fox, CNN, CBS or NBC.

I listen to their World Service every night before bed. It's as good as it gets for a news source.

BBC web news is downright excellent.

I've read them for years, scanning their headlines in RSS feed format. Articles are good, pithy, to the point.

I watch a lot of BBC America.  Doctor Who, Primeval, Being Human, Torchwood, Top Gear, and sundry comedies as they appear.
I had no idea that was a show from the BBC, I just started watching BBC America about 2 months ago but I've never seen it on there, I did watch the Syfy version of it which just premiered this month.

BBC is win.  Al Jazeera focuses a lot on the Middle East/Africa (duh), but they've got a lot of largely unbiased and interesting programs on too, they don't really deserve their bad reputation IMO.  Some of CNN's shows are pretty good (e.g. Richard Quest), even if their 'Headline News' is more like 'Anything but Headline News'.  Fox still needs to learn that when somebody finds an unattended package that isn't a bomb, nobody cares.

So yeah.  News according to Yossarian, in a nutshell.  Also, I like the IHT website.

This is another station that I wish I had. Everything I hear about it is very good.

You should check out their website if you haven't already.  One or two of the opinion pieces I've read there have been a bit whacked, but overall it's good stuff.
