Air Combat Re-enactment Group seeking volunteers
====
For some time I have been pondering the possibility of forming an Air Combat re-enactment group.  This idea first occurred to me in Warbirds.  Now in AcesHigh, I find that I am thinking more and more about the re-enactment group as a possibility.

My motivation:
I have always held an interest in American Civil War history and admire those people
who today belong to re-enactment groups honoring soldiers from that war.  There are also re-enactment groups representing many other periods of armed conflict throughout human history.

These historical re-enactors are what motivate me to try something similar in AcesHigh.

Right now AcesHigh is stockpiled with dozens of fantasy/gaming squads and several historically inspired squads.  Although these are all great groups, what I want to assemble is group that recognizes and salutes ALL national participants in a manner that is largely representative of the historical facts.  Not a just a LW Squad, not just a RAF squad, not just a USAAF squad, A squad that re-creates the performances of ALL the air forces involved, on a mission by mission rotating schedule.  One week a RAF mission.  The next week, a USAAF mission, and on and on, the possibilities are vast.

What I need to know is if anyone would be interested in the following formula:
==============================================
A desire to use realistic (as much as possible) combat tactics and procedures.

A desire to perform the entire range of possible mission scenarios such as heavy bombing, escort, fighter sweep, layered missions requiring multiple tasking, field capture etc, using coherent and historically accurate plane sets (as much as possible) based on actual squadrons/groups on a weekly rotating basis.

A desire to work with others in a planned and coordinated fashion.

Above all else, a desire to honor the memory of all those that flew and fought in the airwar from 1939 to 1945 (I have always had this admiration and honor for the combatants floating around in my mind whenever I dogfight online.  It motivates me).

What I need are other people to help start this.  Skill or experience is secondary to a desire to honor all the people who flew and fought (and died) during WW2.  If you find that you admire and honor those that flew and fought then give this one some thought.

If anyone is interested in forming this re-enactment group with me, please reply to this post or drop me a note at:  tallyhoe@nwlink.com

Thanks,
Yeager

That's good idea Yeager.. count me in! Being the grandson of one of those aviators myself
(Grandfather was a member of the FLying Tigers) I've always held the utmost respect for any military aviator. Would love to help in whatver little way I can having no skill in this whatsoever.
